Bundle Dyed with Beach Coreopsis, Rabbit's Tobacco, Lupine, Sagebrush & Brittlebush

Beach Coreopsis grows vibrantly alongside the coastal cliff sides. She debuts her yellow blooms starting in February and abruptly ending in March. Her sweet fragrance will lure you in as you’re walking down the cliffs to the beaches of Malibu. She gives the most vibrant, intense shades of orange and the sweetest pale pinks.

Sagebrush, often referred to as cowboy cologne, grows amongst the coastal chaparral. Her smell lingers so sweetly in the air as she boils down into a dye extract. She gives beautiful shades of yellow-greens and is a wonderful plant to use in bundle dyeing.

Lupines are a beautiful purple flower that cover the hillsides of Topanga throughout spring. Her unique petals and leaves make her utterly captivating. She only gives color when she is bundle dyed onto fabric, but what she leaves behind is a beautiful palette of blues, yellows, and greens.

Brittlebush Flowers are abundant all over the hillsides and roadsides of Topanga through the spring. She gives the sweetest little bundle print, showcasing her intense dark flower center.

Rabbit’s Tobacco is, in our humble opinion, probably one of the sweetest smelling flowers here in our local mountains. She smells like citrus when fresh, and maple syrup when dried. When boiled down into an extraction she gives shades of yellow-greens, leaning towards mustard. When used in bundle dyes, she leaves behind the sweetest print with yellow dots to represent her flowers and a sage green stem.

Care Instructions: Due to the nature of plant dyes, color may fade over time. In many cases, the fades and color shifts adds to the beauty and history of these garments. Please wash on cold with similar colors. For garments dyed with indigo, wash separately the first two wash cycles as indigo may bleed more than other plant dyes. Lay garments flat to dry, and do not lay in direct sun. PH neutral detergent is best, we recommend 7th generation as both a detergent and fabric softener.

All Rooted Botanics pieces are hand dyed, vintage, & pre-loved. As such, there may be some variation in color throughout, making each piece unique and beautiful in it's own way. Any major spotting or garment defects will be noted or photographed.
